Tomato Basil Soup

Growing up the only tomato soup I remember eating was made by Campbells. Thank goodness for pregnancy cravings that finally led me to a restaurant that was known for its tomato basil soup. by Joyce Sowards

Ingredients
- 1 c. Tomato Powder
- 1 1/2 c. THRIVE Tomato Dices - Freeze Dried
- 1 tbsp. THRIVE Chopped Onions - Freeze Dried
- 1 tsp. Cane Sugar
- 4 c. Water
- 1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp. THRIVE Italian Seasoning Blend
- 1 dash dried oregano
- 1 salt & pepper to taste
- 1 drizzle of extra virgin Olive Oil
- 1 bunch Bunch – Basil, fresh
Directions
- Combine water and tomato powder, stir with a whisk.
- Simmer gently on low until the sauce thickens a bit.
- Gently stir in the Freeze Dried Tomato Dices.
- Simmer on low for about 5 minutes while adding the rest of the seasonings.
- Top off with some fresh chopped basil, and serve with a toasted Ham and Cheese Sandwich to dip into your soup.
