Ingredients

  • 8 c water
  • 2 1/2 c THRIVE Instant Milk
  • 3 tbsp Vanilla Extract (Leave out for plain)
  • 1/4 c Cane Sugar
  • 1/4 c Plain Yogurt with Live Active Cultures

Directions

  1. Equiptment
  2. A pot large enough to hold milk
  3. A Thermometer
  4. A Stainless Steel Spoon
  5. 2 Quart Mason Jars with Lids
  6. To make:
  7. Heat the milk to 180 degrees F.
  8. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking.
  9. Cool to around 110 degrees F
  10. Add a sweetener and vanilla extract (Skip this step for plain yogurt)
  11. Add 1/4 Cup of a good plain yogurt . Stir it in.
  12. Pour mixture into clean containers leaving a ½ inch head space
  13. Keep warm for 8 hours or more to thicken. Wrap in Towels or put in an oven with the oven light on. The more time, the thicker and tangier it gets.
  14. Remove and refrigerate.
