Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Water
  • 1/3 Cup THRIVE Chopped Onions - Freeze Dried
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Cup THRIVE Mushroom Pieces - Freeze Dried
  • 1 Cup THRIVE Potato Dices - Freeze Dried
  • 1 Cup THRIVE Green Peas - Freeze Dried
  • 1 Tbsp THRIVE Butter Powder - Reconstituted with water.
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup THRIVE Béchamel (Creamy White Sauce)
  • 2 Cups Light Whipping Cream
  • 6 Tbsp THRIVE Instant Milk with water to make 2 Cups Milk
  • 1 Cup THRIVE Shredded Cheddar Cheese - Freeze Dried reconstituted
  • 2 Cups Shaved Biltong/Beef Jerky

Directions

  1. Add water to sauce pan with onion, bay leaf, mushroom pieces, potato and green peas. Bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add butter, pepper, and steep for 10 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
  2. Whisk in Bechamel powder. Bring to boil and simmer 3-4 minutes until thickened. Lower heat to simmer.
  3. Add cream and cheddar cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and smooth.
  4. Shave or dice jerky into very small pieces and stir into the sauce.
  5. Add 2 cups of milk to thin out to desired consistency.
  6. Garnish with Bilton slivers and shredded cheese. Serve with toast.
  7. Substitute beef jerky for Biltong, chipped dried beef, sausage crumbles, diced ham or any meat of your choice to enjoy this rich creamy dish.
