Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. THRIVE 9 Grain Cracked Cereal
  • 2 tbsp. flaxseed
  • 2 tbsp. sunflower seeds
  • 2 tbsp. Quick Oats
  • 4 c. THRIVE Honey Whole Wheat Dough Mix
  • 3 tbsp. Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/4 c. water, warm
  • 2 1/4 tsp. Instant Dry Yeast
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Directions

  1. Soak cereal in ½ cup boiling water and let sit for 10 minutes (drain extra water if needed).
  2. Mix together flax seeds, sunflower seeds, and quick oats. Reserve 2 tbsp. for top of bread and set aside.
  3. Combine bread mix, flour, water, yeast, and honey in a mixer with dough hook. Add seed mixture and cereal.
  4. Mix on low speed until dough comes together. Turn up speed and mix for 5 minutes, or until dough is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in greased bowl; cover and let rise about 45 minutes, or until doubled in size
  6. Place dough on counter and lightly press down to deflate. Shape into a loaf and place in greased bread pan.
  7. Lightly brush egg wash over top and press remaining seeds into top of bread. Let rise about 1 inch above pan and bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
