This delicious pasta meal is a great one to have on your shelf. It's very customizeable- use your favorite protein and veggies or whatever you have on hand!

Ingredients

  • 2 c. Bowtie pasta
  • 1/2 c. Sour cream powder
  • 1/2 c. Veloute
  • 1/2 tsp. Lemonade powder
  • 1/2 c. Freeze-dried Asparagus
  • 1/4 c. Freeze-dried Mushroom slices
  • 1 c. Freeze-dried seasoned chicken slices

Directions

  1. To prepare jar, layer all ingredients in a wide-mouth quart size mason jar in the order listed. Shake or tap jar as necessary to settle ingredients. For longer term storage, add a 200cc oxygen absorber inside before attaching the lid.
  2. To cook and serve, remove oxygen absorber if present. Dump contents of jar into a large skillet.
  3. Add 4 c. water and stir to moisten all ingredients.
  4. Turn heat to high and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, 16 minutes or until pasta and chicken are tender and sauce is thickened. Adjust cooking time based on the instructions for your brand of pasta.
  5. If sauce is not thick enough for your liking, simmer an extra minute or two with the lid removed or simply let it stand for a few minutes (sauce will thicken upon standing).
