Ingredients

  • Dough
  • 4 C Honey Whole Wheat Dough Mix
  • 1 1/3 C Water, Hot
  • 2 1/4 tsp Instant Dry Yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp Cane Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Butter, Melted
  • Filling
  • 1 C Brown Sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • 3/4 C Pecans (optional)
  • 1/3 C Butter, Softened
  • Frosting
  • 1/2 C Butter, Softened
  • 6 oz. Cream Cheese
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 4 C Powdered Sugar (sifted)
  • 2 Tbsp Heavy Cream

Directions

  1. Follow directions on can to prepare dough. Add in cinnamon, sugar, and butter in with other dry ingredients.
  2. Knead dough into a smooth ball. Put in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 45 minutes).
  3. Roll out into a rectangle about ¼” thick on a floured surface.
  4. Mix together brown sugar, pecans (if used), and cinnamon.
  5. Spread butter over dough and press cinnamon mixture into dough.
  6. Roll up tightly and seal with egg wash on the end. Cut roll into 1” thick slices.
  7. Place rolls in pan about 1 inch apart and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise until about doubled.
  8. Bake at 350°F for about 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. For frosting, cream together butter and cream cheese until smooth.
  10. Add in remaining ingredients and mix until smooth. Frost rolls once cooled and serve.
  11. Yield: 12 rolls
