Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. THRIVE Beef Slices FD - Reconstituted
  • 1/4 tsp. Garlic Salt
  • 1/8 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1/3 c. Butter
  • 1/2 c. White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour
  • 1/3 c. THRIVE Carrot Dices
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Chopped Onions - FD
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Celery - FD
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Green Peas - FD
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Sweet Corn - FD
  • 1/2 c. Frozen Baby Lima Beans
  • 4 c. Water
  • 1 tbsp. Basil
  • 8 oz. can Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. THRIVE Beef Bouillon
  • 3 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce

Directions

  1. Put Beef dices in a bowl with the Garlic Salt and Pepper and add 3/4 cup water to hydrate.
  2. Add all FD vegetables to a bowl and add 2 cups water- Do not drain
  3. Melt butter in large sauce pan. Whisk 1/2 cups of flour into the melted butter until a thick, rough paste forms. Whisk constantly while it bubbles over medium heat.
  4. As it cooks, the roux will become smooth and begin to thin.
  5. Once the flour looses its raw smell, after about 5 minutes of cooking and stirring add water all at once.
  6. Add all the rest of the ingredients. Do not drain tomatoes, vegetables or beef. Cook and stir until thickened. Turn down heat and simmer about 5 minutes. Add more water if needed for desired thickness.
