Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. Whole Grain Penne Pasta
  • 1 tbsp. garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. Chopped Onions- Dehydrated
  • 1/4 c. white wine
  • 1/4 c. THRIVE Mushroom Pieces - Freeze Dried
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Tomato Dices - Freeze Dried
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Asparagus - Freeze Dried
  • 2 tsp. THRIVE Italian Seasoning Blend
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 c. THRIVE Shredded Parmesan Cheese (FD)
  • 1/4 tsp. THRIVE Chefs Choice
  • 1/4 c. heavy cream
  • 1 c. THRIVE Béchamel (Creamy White Sauce)
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. butter (to finish)

Directions

  1. Cook pasta to desired doneness as instructed on can.
  2. Drain and slightly cool; set aside.
  3. In a large saute pan sweat the garlic, butter, and onions until lightly brown.
  4. Add white wine and reduce by 3/4 or until syrupy and rich. Add mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus, and herbs and toss together to coat with wine reduction.
  5. Add water and bring to a simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add Chef's Choice and Parmesan. Stir and simmer another 1-2 minutes.
  7. Add cream, then bechamel; stir well to incorporate.
  8. Add pasta and toss together. Bring back to a simmer and finish with lemon juice and remaining butter; stir well to incorporate.
