  1. Put all ingredients in a pot except the cream cheese. Pour the hot water over the ingredients, stir, and let sit for 10 minutes to refresh the food.
  2. Turn on heat and simmer for 10 minutes. (If using the instant beans, simmer a little longer until the beans are tender.)
  3. Once food has simmered, turn off heat and stir in softened cream cheese.
  4. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
  5. Sprinkle with cheese and add some sour cream if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.
