This recipe can be made in advance for making a quick meal. It works for at home when you want a tasty and warm meal quickly, while traveling or even camping. All you need is boiling water and a few minutes of time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup instant rice
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried chicken
  • 1/4 cup freeze-dried celery
  • 2 Tablespoon dried cranberries
  • 1 Tablespoon freeze-dried chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chicken boullion
  • 1 3/4 cups water

Directions

  1. Measure the dry ingredients into a bowl.
  2. Bring 1 3/4 cups water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add in dry ingredients, stirring well. Cover with lid, turn off stove. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Stir rice and enjoy.
  4. For travel/camping, pack the dry ingredients into a sandwich sized zip top bag and mark how much water to add. Can be prepared in a hotel room in an insulated mug, or even in a disposable bowl.
