Beef Bourguignon

Rich slowly simmered beef, mushrooms, onion and beefy wine sauce. Thyme is the perfect fresh herb to enhance the flavors of mushrooms and beef. No longer do you have to spend hours prepping and cooking this classic dish.

Ingredients
- 4 C THRIVE Beef Slices
- 2 C THRIVE Mushroom PIeces
- 1 C THRIVE Onion Slices
- 2 Tbsp THRIVE Tomato Powder
- 1 Tbsp THRIVE Beef Bouillon
- 1/2 tsp Peppercorn or add to taste
- 2 cloves Garlice, minced
- 1 Tbsp Thyme, fresh
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 C Red Wine, good table wine
- 5 C Water
- 2 Tbsp White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour)
- 1/4 C Water, for slurry
Directions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a deep skillet. Add the minced garlic, sliced onions to saute.
- Add mushrooms and stir. Let your veggies get a little bit toasted.
- Add in the beef and wine.
- Next add the water, tomato powder, bouillon and thyme.
- Bring up to a simmer and continue to simmer for 20 minutes.
- Make a slurry of flour and water. Pour into your pot and stir until slightly thickened.
- Servings suggestions:
- This would be great served over warm noodles or mashed potatoes.
