20 Minute Swiss Steak

One of our favorite recipes was handed down from my Mom, Swiss Steak. I used Roast Beef Dices, the big chunks, sliced onions and mushrooms to recreate the dish. by Lorin & Linda Tessem

Ingredients
- 1/2 c. THRIVE Onion Slices - Freeze Dried
- 1 tsp. THRIVE Beef Bouillon
- 1 c. Beef Slices - Freeze Dried
- 1 tsp. THRIVE Espagnole (Savory Beef Gravy)
- 1/2 tsp. THRIVE Chefs Choice
- 1/2 c. THRIVE Mushroom Pieces - Freeze Dried
- 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1/2 c. Cornstarch
- 2 c. Water
Directions
- Brown Onion Slices in Olive Oil, sprinkled with the Beef Bouillon, in deep skillet
- Add Beef Dices and brown
- Add enough water to cover all ingredients, adding water as needed to keep beef and onions covered
- Add Espagnole Sauce Mix and simmer 10 - 15 minutes until beef is tender
- Add Mushrooms and simmer 2 more minutes
- Make a slurry of Cornstarch and 1 cup Water. Add slowly, stirring constantly, to reach desired consistency (you may not use all the slurry)
- Add Chef's Choice to taste
