Participating families are given a variety of seeds and livestock and
are educated on how to rotate crops to maximize their production, cultivate well-balanced diets, and
care for their animals. After two years these families will have enough crops and livestock to store
a year’s supply of food, provide a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables and protein for their
families, sell excess at the market, and give back at least as much as they were originally given to
help a new family start the program.
